If you were looking for Wicklow Toastmasters, you have found us. We changed our public name — and nothing else. Same club, same people, same room, same Thursday nights.
We are still a member club of Toastmasters International. The change was about being understood, not about leaving anything behind.
"Toastmasters" means a great deal to the quarter of a million people worldwide who are already members. To someone in Wicklow who has never heard of it, it sounds like something to do with weddings or catering. We were losing people at the first hurdle — before they ever found out what the club actually does. "Wicklow Speaking Club" says it plainly, and the affiliation is stated on every page of this site.
Yes. Wicklow Speaking Club is a member club of Toastmasters International, District 71. Members follow the same Pathways education programme and earn the same internationally recognised badges and certificates.
Completely unaffected. Your path, your completed projects, your badges and your certificates are held by Toastmasters International in your own name, and a change of club branding does not touch any of it.
wicklowtoastmasters.com now redirects here automatically, so old links, old bookmarks and old posters still work. The club is also still listed with Toastmasters International under club number 00674021.
